Red Walls & Baby Gates

Slowly but surely, we have been updating our home. We have painted the outside, and inside we have painted and put new carpet or pergo in both bathrooms, bedrooms, dining room, and we have started the living room. Our latest update is Mike's bar area, one of his "Bachelor" area's he just can't get rid of. His other area is the pool table in the middle of our living room. Can't you just see our children running around the bar & pool table?! I figure the pool table will make a great changing table though! We have stuck to pretty neutral colors, but I have been wanting a red wall somewhere in the house. We decided to try it in the bar area, because we have a lot of stuff on the walls, so it wouldn't be that noticeable. It really turned out great:

Another thing we did was purchase a baby gate. (No we don't have a baby, nor are we pregnant) But those of you who know us, know we have 2 pitbulls. If you have visited our home, you also know they are very excited to see new people. They get so excited that they jump all over you. So we decided to get a baby gate to separate the living room from the rest of the house. Now we can put them on one side of the house, and people who come over won't be jumped on. This will also come in handy when we do have a baby. I was concerned at first that they will run full speed into it and tear it out of the wall, but they both have been great about it. We have learned that if they really want to, they can jump over it, but for the most part it has worked out great!

On another note, I took a picture of the sunset last night. We live in the everglades, literally, and sometimes I forget how pretty it can be right in my backyard.
Enjoy!
