"I plan to give you love, nurturing, and just enough dysfunction to make you funny."

"Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage."-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Due Date Update

I had my first appointment with the regular OB yesterday, (I had been going to a fertility doctor), and he said everything looks great so far. He did change my due date from June 26th to June 25th- of course this date doesn't mean too much because I could deliver before or after then! We had a great talk about the joys & not so joyous things that come along with being pregnant. He asked me what side effects I have been having, and pretty much all I have felt is tired. He said that I am very lucky to have had no morning sickness, and since I am already 9 weeks, I would probably never have it. (Typically between 10-12 weeks, you start feeling "normal" again- more energy). We also discussed the H1N1 vaccine. He does recommend it for me because I am in a high risk category being pregnant. I did not feel comfortable getting it because it is so new. He did say that if it would've come out a few months prior, it would have been included in the regular flu vaccine, not made into this separate scary H1N1 vaccine. He also said that the formula for making the vaccine does not differ much from the regular flu vaccine, and that pregnant woman are given the "non-active" vaccine, which means it is dead- not a live virus. He said that the long term effects or even short term effects would be the same as a regular flu shot. He made me feel a little more at ease about it, but said I didn't have to make the decision right now. He does the shot right in his office, so maybe I could get it at my next appointment. I still haven't fully decided what I am going to do, but if I do decide to get it, I feel a little more comfortable with it now. That's all for now, I will update more later...
