3rd Trimester

I am 27 weeks & 1 day pregnant! According to my weekly email, that means I am now in the 3rd trimester! Some say it isn't until 28 weeks, but whatever, close enough! I did a little survey this week:

How Far Along? 27 weeks & 1 Day

Total Weight Gained/Loss? My last Dr. appt. I had only gained like 9lbs- I wasn’t super skinny when I got pregnant, so he said my weight is just shifting beautifully! Yea me! (But we will see at the next appt. on 4-7)

Maternity Clothes: Oh Yea! I love stretchy pants!!

Sleep: Definitely sucks, and I hear it just gets worse!

Best Moment of the Week: Baby shower invites going out!

Movement: All the time- this boy can kick!

Food Craving: None in-particular, but when something sounds good, I have to have it now!- I stand corrected- I ♥ Ketchup!

Food aversions: Onions

Morning sickness: Never had it- sorry to all the women who did!

Gender: It is a Boy!

Labor Signs: No- and I am not looking forward to their arrival!

Belly Button: It is in as of now, but it is getting close to being out!

Stretch Marks: None yet!

Wedding rings: I can still wear them, but when I get home from work, I take them off because my fingers sometimes swell at night!

Exercise: Uh, no…I really should, though!

What I miss: SLEEPING ON MY BACK!!!

What I'm looking forward to: Birthing Class on April 17th & Baby Shower April 24th

Weekly Wisdom: Never take for granted being able to shave your legs, put on your shoes, or walk from one end of the room to another without losing your breath! (Ha)

New Topic:

A hot topic this week for me has been our 2 dogs. Since we found out we were pregnant, people have asked us if we would be keeping our 2 dogs. Now that we are further along, people are really wondering if we will be keeping our dogs. If you know us, you know we have 2 pit bulls- Buddy will be 6 in May, and Daisy will be 2 in April. Those of you who haven't been around our dogs, let me give you a little background information:

Buddy has no idea he is a pit bull. He loves other animals, (except for a little dog down the street- long story), he is very "Motherly" even though he is a male. He constantly cleans Daisy and our outdoor cat. (The cat loves him too). He is pretty laid back, very lazy, and friendly to everyone. He rarely gets into trouble, and when he does, you can tell he feels really bad!

(Yes, her ears stick up like that all the time- we don't know why!)
Daisy is still in her "puppy" stage. She is hyper, but very loving. She thinks she is a lap dog. When Mike lays on the couch, she lays on his chest to sleep. She loves to snuggle or just be held, and she loves her brother Buddy. We still have to cage her during the day, because she likes to use random things in the house as chew toys. (But she doesn't eat stuff when we are there with her). She has a little bit of a problem jumping on people, but she is getting better at that.

Mike & I understand that just having a baby is going to be very tough, and when you add 2 big dogs in the mix, it will be tougher. I also know that pit bulls have a very bad rap, but I also know that it is all in how you raise them. Mike & I feel very comfortable with bringing a baby into our house around our dogs. We are not worried about an aggression issue, but if there ever was, we of course would get rid of the dog with the issue. (But we are not worried about this) We also understand that whatever breed they are, they are big dogs, and we would never just leave the baby on the floor or in the swing with the dogs in the same room and us in another room. We appreciate your concerns, and we promise to do what is best for us and our baby, so please don't worry!

Everyone has an opinion just like everyone has an a**hole! Buddy doesn't even know he is a dog much less a pit bull- and he is very lazy!! Haven't spent as much time with Daisy but I'm sure you are raising her the same way you raised Buddy so she will probably not consider herself a dog either!!
Keep those feet up when you can and enjoy this last leg of an unforgetable moment in time!! Love, Mom and Dad
