Memorial Day weekend my whole family headed up to Disney World, AGAIN! It was a family vacation, yet not a family vacation. We all went, but made no plans to hang out together- it is too crazy to travel in big groups. So basically we just did what we wanted and if someone else wanted to come with us, then ok! We all stayed at the Dolphin Resort, which is our favorite place to stay! Mike & I were on the 18th Floor, and the view was amazing!
Saturday, Mike, Me, Whitney, Brad, and Logan headed off to Blizzard Beach- or "Big Bath" which is what Logan calls the pool(He is 2yrs old). It was our first time going there, and it was so much fun. It is designed to look like a Ski Resort, and it even has a ski lift that takes you to the top of the mountain for 3 of the slides.
Mike & Brad did the "Summit Plummet" which is a very tall, very vertical slide:
Do you see it way up there?! It has a sign at the bottom to tell you your speed! Brad was 54mph & Mike was 51mph- Isn't that crazy?!
I chose to do the slide next to it, "Slush Gusher", which did not look that bad. When I reached the bottom, I was a little disoriented and the life guard was laughing at me! (I didn't expect that last drop to be so big!)
Here is a better picture: It is the slide all the way to the left:
Mike & Brad said while they were standing in line, they saw me go down the slide, and both said they knew I would be mad at them for sending me on it. I like water slides, but I don't like very vertical drops. It was fun, but don't think I would go on it again.
Saturday night Mike & I had reservations at Shula's Steakhouse, which is located right in the Dolphin Hotel. ( He really wanted to eat at the Clam Bake located in the Yacht Club Resort, but Whitney couldn't get reservations) Shula's was SO GOOD!!! I think it was the highlight of Mike's weekend. Every table has an autographed signed football by Don Shula that lists all the steaks they have. We both had a rib eye, which was amazing!
Sunday Mike & I headed to Animal Kingdom, which was a very relaxing day. We have been there before, but never really looked at everything there, so this trip we did. It is a pretty cool park. Sunday evening we met up with Whitney, Brad, & Logan to head over to the Magic Kingdom. We rode all the little kid rides which are Mike's favorite! (Ha) Here are Mike & Brad on the carousel:
We had a really great weekend, and I can't wait to go back again!
