"I plan to give you love, nurturing, and just enough dysfunction to make you funny."

"Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage."-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Student of the Month? #okillgowithit

The boy got his first ever letter sent home from the principal this week. #ohcrapwhatdidhedo But it was so not what I expected his first principal ever letter to be. #itwontbehislast He got student of the month for the February! #forreal #itwassignedandeverything

Come to find out each month is a different theme. February was honoring kids who are honest. #iassumetattlingat4countsashonesty

No really, trust me, that boy is honest- he tells me every day who was on red at school, who took the bike from him at recess, who he pushed to get the bike back, etc. The problem is, his honesty has no filter. We will be at the store for example, and he will see a fluffy person and will say ever so loudly, "Look at him, he's big." #dieofembarrassment #redirecthim

But I assume that is all kids, right? Most kids around that age have no filter, and they don't know how to really lie yet. They basically call it how they see it. They don't understand that saying a guy in all leather is a bad guy, or a fluffy person is large. But that is what is fun about kids, they say what most of us want to say but would never say. #wellireallyhavenofiltereither

All kids should be honest, at least if you are doing a good job as a parent. Now all I need to teach that kid is sarcasm- it's an art form, and timing is everything. #ithinkhehasitinhim

Here is our little student of the month. We are very proud of him! #hisnamewasonit #theydidntmakeamistake
