What's Your Opinion?

I need to pick out a wedding picture for our 16x20 portrait. I have narrowed it down, but can't choose one. Here is where you come in. Please leave a comment or email me which one you think is the best. The one's that look like we are far away will be brought closer. They are all pretty similar, but it is still so hard to choose. Thanks for your help!!!

One Short Post?!

I had been thinking lately about this blog I have been doing over the past 1 1/2 years, how much time I had put into it, documenting my wedding planning experience, and then my wedding day comes, and I do one lousy post with one picture. I have so many pictures, over 1000 to be exact, that it is so hard to put them all on here. I will try to get a slide show together of some of them, but in the meantime, I hope everyone had a chance to view the professional pictures at www.firstclasssounds.com (see previous post for details). Sorry for slacking..

On another note, my Christmas tree is already up, some of my decorations are up, and we are headed to Dahlonega, GA to spend Thanksgiving with Mike's family. We are very excited to get out of South Florida for a few days!! I will post again soon..

Time of Our Lives...

The Wedding has came and gone already! What a beautiful day. I wanted to thank everyone who made our day so special. Thanks to everyone who traveled to our wedding, we love you all.

I wanted to let everyone know that the pictures are available to view online. The site is www.firstclasssounds.com - On the left column you will see "View Recent Events" then a list will pop up- It is in alphabetical order by my first name "Megan & Michael 11-7-08 Hillcrest Country Club". Once you click that, you will see the word "Photo's", click on that and you can view them. You will notice under each picture the words "Add to Cart". ANYONE CAN PURCHASE THESE PICTURES!!! They all came out beautifully!

My Parents & Mike's Parents: Your picture book includes 30 pictures. Please look through all the pictures and write down the picture numbers you wish to add to your book.

PS- If anyone found a black digital camera at the wedding, please let me know.
Thanks!!

No Turning Back Now...

Last week/weekend update:

One thing not to say to a bride 6 days before her Wedding: "The ends of your hair turned red!" My sister and I went to get our hair highlighted on Saturday, and for those of you who haven't seen me lately, my hair has been brown. I decided to add blonde highlights back into it. Well, apparently my hair did not like this, so when the stylist checked my hair, she told me that the ends had turned a bright red! I then had to sit there and get more bleach applied to my hair- 4 hours later, my hair looks great. (Whitney's does too!)

Saturday night I had a bachelorette dinner at the Melting Pot. It was a really nice to sit back, relax, and eat a ton of great food with great friends and family.

Mike had also informed me last week how nervous he was, not about the ceremony, just the aftermath, as he called it. He loves me and wants to marry me, but apparently he sees marriage as the end of his 31 year childhood. He believes after we say "I Do" that his life will be over. I reassured him that this feeling he is having is just him growing up. I new it would have happened sooner or later!

I have turned in my final count to Hillcrest, and I will see you all on Friday night!

10 Days & Counting!

Planning our Wedding has been quite the emotional roller coaster over this past one and a half years. As the big day is approaching us next week, let me give you an abbreviated timeline of this crazy journey:

June of '07, my very first blog entry was announcing our engagement. I believe I said "This is such an exciting time", and it was, I mean is. I also said that same month, "I don't think I am a bridezilla, yet" - "yet" being the operative word!

September '07, I introduced you to my bridal party, and shared wonderful memories, and nice words about each one of them. Unbeknownst to me, one of these girls would be dropping out the the bridal party.

November '07, One year and counting, "Clipboard here I come"! I was so eager back then to get started on wedding planning. Oh how naive I was.

March '08, All the major stuff was done. I was so proud to have made this accomplishment so early. If I only knew, that was the easy part.

April & May '08, Finding the perfect Hotel, easier said than done. I still am not sure if all of the out-of-towners found a Hotel or not. I know I did!

July '08, I believe I said "When does it end". Nightmares had started, and I was contemplating xanax vs. yoga. I will let you guess which one won that battle. Let's just say I still don't know what "downward facing dog" is.

August '08, The beginning of the month was great with my bridal shower.
Towards the middle of the month I wrote "If you have the honor of being a part of my big day, you better make it your big day too." At that point, I believe I had just found out one of my bridesmaids was dropping out. Luckily, I found an even better replacement! I also clarified the 2 definitions of the word bridezilla. I had said I was definition #2, but I take that back. I believe my friends & family would also agree that #1 was written for me:

#1: Webster's Definition: Bridezilla\ bride-zil-a n 1 Horrific, bulging-eyed bride prone to screaming spells and spontaneous fits of hysterical rage. Bridezillas are known to drop blows over seating charts, get bug-eyed at the mere mention of carnations and view hurling champagne at their wedding planners as a form of hazing.

#2: Bridezilla.com's Definition: Bridezilla\bride-zil-a n 1 Exceptionally attractive, confident women who know what they want and can't be bothered to sugar coat because they are obviously on 100 calorie- a- day micro biotic diets and can't even sneak a pack of Splenda if their life depends on it. Bridezillas are both blessed and cursed with a higher vision of perfection than most mediocre, David's Bridal wearing, Gerber daisy carrying mortals and have no choice but to impart this vision exactly to the masses. It is this motive that drives them to demand nothing less than excellence from their staff-err, wedding party.

September 08', I loved to get the mail because the RSVP's were flowing in. Then all the sudden they didn't, and then it just annoyed me to get the mail. I also had endless discussions of the perfect wedding song with Mike. Yes, we did finally come to a decision!

October '08, Seating chart!! I believe I said, "If for some reason you do not like who you end up sitting with, please keep that information to yourself the night of the wedding." Wow, such hostility. I believe I also suggested a Dunkin Donuts at the gym, after we got our marriage license at the car dealership.

It has definitely been a crazy ride, and I am so glad all of you have been on it with me. We have had our ups, our downs, and I don't know about you, but I have felt pretty nauseous almost the whole ride! Everyone keeps telling me it will all be worth it in the end, and I am actually starting to believe them!!!

See you next week!

New Car or Marriage License?

At Rick Case Honda in Davie, FL, you can buy a used car, new car, get an oil change, or even buy discounted gas. What a great "one stop shop"! Mike and I decided to head on over to Rick Case Honda on Friday, because I have always wanted a Honda Accord. But instead of looking at a new car for me, we decided to just pick up a marriage license. Yes, you heard me correctly- you can get your marriage license at Rick Case Honda! What's next, a Dunkin' Donuts at the gym? (That would be nice, wouldn't it?) But the two just don't go together. The worst part was the wedding arch in the corner of the room. Do people really get married at the car dealership? Has anyone done this? Please let me know if you have heard of this. I must know!

Where Will You Be Sitting?

The Di Vito/ Blake Wedding is exactly one month away! I can't even believe it. It seems like only 1 year, 4 months, 1 week, and 4 days ago that we got engaged! Time really does fly by!

Let the fun begin! I have received your RSVP's and now I get to assign you to a table. Trust me, I know first hand how awkward it is to sit with people you don't know, but I will be very fair when I do the seating chart. If for some reason you do not like who you end up sitting with, please keep that information to yourself the night of the Wedding. Thanks!

Country vs. Timeless

Mike & I are trying to decide our song for the first dance at the wedding, but we are not really on the same page. When I think of "Songs about Love" I think of Elvis Presley "I can't help falling in Love with you", Etta James "At Last", Brian Adams "Everything I do". Mike, on the other hand thinks of only 1 thing- COUNTRY MUSIC! Don't get me wrong, I like country music, but the songs don't exactly scream wedding to me. So, what do we do? The Internet, of course! I have been looking up different love songs and playing them for Mike, but as I look at the lists of top 100 love songs of all time, I find it appalling that "Unchained Melody" is on the same list as a song titled "My Boo"! I also don't think that I want my first dance as husband & wife to be "Let's get it on"- who put that on the list? Probably a man! Hopefully Mike & I will be able to agree on something soon, or hopefully he's not too mad when my song choice begins to play while we are on the dance floor!!

Wedding Hairstyles

As I was searching online for wedding hairstyles, I came across the picture above. My first reaction was to laugh, of course, then I thought about it some more and came up with a theory: Maybe this woman has terrible anxiety and the shell has a calming affect on her. It probably gives her peace to hear the ocean from the shell on the side of her face. I don't think this is the hairstyle for me, but I will be doing a trial run tonight, so wish me luck!

How many came today?!

(The picture is a little fuzzy, sorry)

The response cards are beginning to come in! I LOVE to check the mail!! I would like to give all of you future party planners a tip- alphabetize & number your guest list on a word document & number each of your response cards accordingly on the back. You do this to identify the response card that came back with no name & no return address!!! I am so glad that I did this!! So which did you check?! =)

_______ Gladly attend
_______ Regretfully decline
_______ Regretfully attend
_______ Enthusiastically decline
_______ Will decline to respond, but ultimately attend
_______ Think you are just trying to wrestle a gift out of me

Mike's Day Too!

I have been blogging all about me, and have forget to mention what Mike has been up too. The weekend of my bridal shower, Mike's Dad & Brother came down for his bachelor party. They went to the beautiful Florida Keys for 3 days and 2 nights. In the LONG search of where to stay, they finally decided Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key, where they had a 2 story, 3 bedrooms townhouse on the water. They place was great, but in the future, I don't think it is appropriate to send a group of rowdy guys to a Resort for a bachelor party. Here are a few pictures courtesy of Mike's Dad.

The Newest Member

I would like to introduce everyone to the newest member of my elite bridal party, Amy D'Angelo-Kraft. Amy & I met a little over a year ago. We have become very close to each other in that short amount of time. Last weekend I was honored to perform her wedding ceremony (I'm a notary, it's legal), and now she will be standing next to me on my wedding day. Thank you Amy for being a part of my big day, with such short notice, I might add! You are a GREAT friend!! I have attached the standard issued bridesmaid contract below- I don't think I am asking too much, do you? For some reason, I don't think any of my bridesmaids signed the contract, I am going to have to look into that! I am so happy with my bridal party, I know that each one of them is 100% committed to me & my wedding, Thank you girls!!! Here is the contract:

Hello my beautiful bridesmaids! Let me just say again how happy I am that you are going to be a part of my special day! Below are just a few guidelines for the wedding that I’d like you to review, please initial by each point, sign at the end and send back to me. Just want to make sure there are not any surprises! The planning bride is a happy bride!

One Word With 2 Meanings

Isn't it funny how one word can have 2 definitions?! As my Wedding approaches, more people are referring to me as a "Bridezilla". Even at my Bridal Shower, my sister created a crossword puzzle about Mike & I, and my nickname was one of the questions. I tried fitting in nicknames of mine like, "Meg", "Mangon" (inside joke), or "MaMa" (what my nephew calls me), but the only word that would fit was "Bridezilla". I thought, where is this coming from, is this how my friends and family perceive me? I, just like every other Bride in the world, has a vision of their big day. They picture their venue, the dress, the ambiance; I see nothing wrong with achieving this vision at any means necessary! Also, what is with everyone telling the anxious bride "Remember, just because it is your big day, doesn't mean it is everyone else's too." You know what, forget that! If you have the honor of being part of my big day, you better make it your big day too. It doesn't need to be on the top of your priority list, but it better be pretty high up there! Am I being unreasonable thinking that way?!

Below you will find 2 definitions of a Bridezilla, I of course am definition #2!!!

Are You Kidding Me?

Going back to the post I did in March where I was so happy all the major stuff was done- I am taking all that back! I would much rather have all the major stuff left instead of all the "little" details. As soon as I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel, someone tells me 12 other things I must get done. When does it end??? If you look close, the book in the picture says "2nd Edition"- the author probably wrote the book and after it came out remembered all the "little" stuff she left out! I think once this is done, I will be able to plan anything- Every bride who plans their own wedding should automatically get a degree in wedding planning!

4 Months To Go!

One Year ago today, we were celebrating our engagement in my parents backyard at a 4Th of July themed party! We have exactly 4 months until we say "I Do". Time is flying by, and we still have so many little details to work out! The nightmares have began- I am not kidding- I have had 2 nightmares, both very similar. I have this nightmare that it is the day of the wedding and half the stuff isn't done, my dress doesn't fit, my hair falls out (not actually out, just out of the style it was in), I forgot to send out the invitations, etc... I wake up in a panic! I can only imagine that these nightmares will get worse! I either need to start doing yoga, or maybe I just need to take some xanax! (Ha)

the apple of his eye

The bridal shower is approaching, and the invitations are arriving in your mailbox any day! If you don't know already, my sister, Whitney, is hosting the bridal shower. I have passed down the clipboard, taught her all my "Martha" ways, and so far she is doing a great job. Thank you Whitney for planning my shower, I know it will be awesome.
Don't forget to RSVP by July 12!
